Nothing In Return
Nothing In Return
Firas Adel Hallak
Lately, I’ve been sleeping with my eyeglasses on
Hoping to see and understand my dreams
But every time I tried, I fail and see that everything is gone
I don’t need champagne or superior quality
I need something
Something that would control my mentality
I don’t need books of literature
Nor the ashes that remained from the fire
I don’t need anything that can be touched
I need something that would fulfill my desires
I find it strange and pathetic how you look at me
And expect something in return
I would love to look at you
And watch you burn.
