We asked authors from our previous Festivals five questions and here are the answers:

How did you enjoy the LitFest experience?

A marvelous experience of literature and great literary figures, whom I had the chance to meet. It was also a great encounter with talented creative readers and audience. It filled my heart with joy and my mind with satisfaction.

What current projects are you working on?

I’m working on a new collection of short short-stories, a collection of short stories, and a book of quotes I have been publishing on a daily basis on my official page; in addition to some children’s stories and a new educational series for children but this time in Arabic. I’m also working on the translation of a new book for Al Saqi publishing House.

Describe a typical day in your life.

A typical summer day: The moment I open my eyes two things happen, sometimes one before the other. I pray and immediately start writing on my official page. I do some reading then I start working. I see or call friends, watch a movie either in theatres or on TV. Music has to be present in my day. Then I sit and start writing and working again to a late hour at night, which is my best time for writing. However, my day never ends or even starts if I don’t hug and kiss my beloved ones, especially my adorable, amazing and bright little nephew and, of course, read to him and play with him.

What’s the funniest thing that’s happened to you as a writer?

Every time something, that can be a substance for narration, happens and I’m around, people who know me say, “Don’t write about that!” Or, “Why don’t you write about that?”

What helps boost your creativity?

A flower, a bird, a child, a smile, beautiful music, nature, a good thing, a bad thing, details around me, pain, injustice, a shadow, a movement, a situation, the night. Everything.
